Späť na úvod

I was alone in the house watching a thriller on TV. The room was dark and the light from the TV screen created strange shadows on the walls. The rain was tapping softly against the windows and the wind was howling outside. It was just me, sitting on the sofa, watching a stupid horror movie. However, this evening felt different. It felt too quiet, even though it was raining heavily outside. The ticking of the clock seemed louder than usual and the air felt much colder. Despite that the movie was not even scary. The only emotion I felt at the time, was boredom. That feeling quickly changed suddenly.

Just as my eyes started to close, I heard something – a soft knock coming from upstairs. At first, I did not pay much attention to it. I thought it was the wind or rain or the pipes. But then, I heard it again. Now a bit louder, as if something fell down. Of course, my curiosity won, so I stood up, grabbed my phone and headed towards the staircase. The sound seemed to come from the old guest room. I have not been there since my grandma died. I have always had a bad feeling about the room. It captured a strange atmosphere and it smelt like dust. I hesitated for a while, but then I slowly opened the cracking door. I stopped, the room was cold and quiet, almost as if time had frozen here. The lights in this room did not work very well, so it was dark, but I slowly stepped inside. I looked around, everything seemed fine, except for one small detail. A photo in a frame, lying down on the floor. I did not remember owning it, but I walked closer, bend down and picked i tup. I did not see much, but I was sure that the photo showed me, standing in this room and looking exactly the same as I was. However, as I looked closer, I saw a dark silhouette, standing right behind me. A cold feeling ran down my spine. I dropped the photo on the floor and gasped as the glass broke into many pieces. I could not believe what I had just seen. Just as I was trying to look closer and closer .... I woke up.

I found myself sitting on the sofa, covered in my blanket, watching the last minutes of the movie. I felt stupid, thinking it was real all this time. I knew I should have gone to bed earlier. I slowly stood up, turned the TV off and went upstairs to my room. As I was walking down the long hallway, I saw something strange. The door of the guest room was slightly opened. It was weird because we always kept it closed. As I was reaching to close it, I saw something through the crack in the door – a broken photo, lying upside down, just the same one as I had seen in my dream...
