On October 8th, 2025, the classes 1B and 2B had the amazing opportunity to see a stage performance of Frankenstein at the theatre in Zrkadlový Háj in Bratislava. The performance was produced by the American Drama Groupe Europe (ADGE) and performed by the British theatre company TNT Theatre Britain, meaning that all 4 actors are native english speakers, making the whole performance even better and authentic. Yes, there were only 4 actors in the whole play! They each played at least 2 roles so they had to switch from character to character constantly, it was honestly admirable.
The play is based on the famous, even legendary novel by Mary Shelley. It was pleasantly surprising that even though the storyline changed quite a bit from the book, the play still managed to stay true to Shelley’s themes and emotional intentions while also offering a modern, almost comic interpretation. The actor playing Victor Frankenstein (the creator of the monster) gave an intense and passionate performance, showing the character’s brilliance and obsession with creating life. But it was the actor, who played the creature that truly stood out. He portrayed him not just as a monster, but as a deeply human and tragic figure. At certain times, you couldve felt a mix of fear, sadness, and even empathy for the creature, even though he had done terrible things. All of the actors were great, and funny at times but his performance was truly briliant and full of emotion, bringing the whole story together and giving it a new, deeper meaning.
After the play ended, we went to the Avion shopping centre, where we could buy lunch or just hang around the shops.
