Why do we celebrate International Workers Day?

     International Workers day or Labour day is a celebration by all labourers and working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement and occurs every year on the 1st of May or on different dates, for example, International Workers Day is celebrated on the 1st of September in USA or Canada. Celebrations are various, it depends where it is celebrated but it is mostly just parades and marches.
 History of International Workers Day:
      In the late 19th century, americans had enough of working in poor conditions. They have been overworked in dangerous conditions with little pay. In 1884 Federation of organized trades and labour unions met in Chicago and had one major demand which was and Eigh hour work day. On May 1st 1886, 300 000 americans went on a strike and on May 4th the went to protest in the Haymarket square where a riot broke out and a fight began between the protestors and the police. Someone threw a bomb into the crowd and killed and injured several people. It was called the Haymarket massacre.
